Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how FabulAI ("FabulAI", "we", "us") handles information when you use the FabulAI mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using FabulAI, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account identifiers. FabulAI uses anonymous authentication by default. We generate a random user ID and store it on your device. We do not require an email address, phone number, or social login to play.
- Gameplay data. To run the interactive narrative, your inputs (the lines you type to AI characters) and the resulting AI responses are sent to our servers and stored against your anonymous user ID. This is what lets you resume a story across sessions.
- Device & diagnostic data. Standard request metadata such as IP address, app version, OS version, device model, locale, and timestamps. We use this for operating the Service and diagnosing crashes and abuse.
- Payment data (if applicable). If you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is handled by Apple. We receive a transaction receipt for entitlement verification but never your payment card details.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the minimum age permitted in your region.
2. How we use information
- Provide and operate the Service, including running AI dialogue and saving your progress.
- Improve story quality, fix bugs, and prevent abuse, fraud, and policy violations.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your gameplay content for advertising profiling.
3. Third-party services
To deliver the Service, we share the minimum necessary data with the following categories of providers:
- Authentication & database. Supabase (anonymous auth and storage of your gameplay data).
- AI model providers. Your typed dialogue and the relevant scene context are sent to large-language-model providers (such as Anthropic, Google, or xAI) so they can generate the AI characters' replies. These providers process the data on our behalf and are not permitted to use your content to train their models under our agreements.
- App distribution & payments. Apple (App Store distribution and in-app purchases).
- Hosting & CDN. Cloud infrastructure and CDN providers used to serve images, audio, and API requests.
4. Data retention
We retain gameplay data tied to your anonymous ID for as long as the account is active. Diagnostic logs are retained for a limited period (typically up to 90 days) and then deleted or aggregated.
5. Your choices and rights
- Reset. You can reset your local user ID from within the app, which detaches future sessions from your prior gameplay history.
- Deletion. You may request deletion of data associated with your anonymous user ID by contacting us at the address below. Provide the user ID shown in the app's settings so we can identify the records.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (e.g., EEA/UK, California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or restrict processing of your personal data. We will honor verifiable requests as required by applicable law.
6. International transfers
FabulAI is operated globally. Your data may be processed in countries other than the one in which you reside, including the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging) to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after the change becomes effective constitutes acceptance.
